With God, Tyria has been able to break through barriers that have blocked Black Girls and Black Women from achieving their place in professions that are dominated by white men. Growing up poor on the low end of Chicago, requiring public assistance and charity to make it through, Tyria’s family pushed her to be a game-changer. Her Mother taught her how to be a BOSS in this world. At 25 yrs old, Tyria became an Attorney. After practicing for 22 years, at age 47 Tyria became the first and only Judge in her family. All the while, Tyria dwells in the Englewood Community, still committed to community service and mentorship, and she remains faithful to the Body of Christ, This is Black Girl Magic.

Patricia Riley

Black Girl Magic Award Nominee

Patricia’s resilience is why she was nominated for the Black Girl Magic Award. While still going through treatments for breast cancer she was able to create her own foundation. Her resilient spirit is encouraging and uplifting to all. Her loving spirit is contagious. And now everyone gets to hear how good God has been to her, through her most recent achievement her Fight or Fight Harder Podcast. She is faithful. She loves the Lord and her church.
