Celebrating The Life Of Our Founder The Rev. Dr. Clay Evans

December 2, 2019 - December 7, 2019

Reverend Clay Evans founded Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in 1950 where he served for 50 years. His most famous mantra was “It is no secret what God can do.” He will forever be a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, uncle, family patriarch, and church father.

He was the first to ordain a woman in the Baptist church in the city of Chicago. He was a leading servant of God, a man of great faith, a servant’s servant, a leader’s leader, and a friend to all of mankind. He will forever be known as a civil rights leader (who worked closely with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Reverend Jesse Jackson), gospel music pioneer, civic leader, community staple, and trusted counselor to all including Presidents, Governors, Mayors, and anyone in need of advice.
