AN EXPLANATION OF OUR LOGO

01 THE ANCHOR
Represents Stability
“The anchor of stability holds firm when your navigation system fails.” – Chuck Swindoll
Life often feels like we are navigating undefinable and uncontainable seas. Sometimes, the seas are calm while at other times seas are raging. Yet, we who trust in Jesus, our Anchor, find stability even in life’s most uncertain times.
02 THE ANKH
Represents African History
The ankh symbol—sometimes referred to as the key of life or the key of the Nile—is representative of eternal life in ancient Egypt. Created by Africans long ago, the ankh is said to be the first–or original–cross.
03 THE FIVE STRAND ROPE
Represents Family
The Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church is a family. Since 1950, families from Chicagoland and beyond, have worshiped together, forging friendships that have been passed down through as many as five generations. The five strand rope represents the various fellowships and kinships that have been developed through our fellowship.
04 THE CROWN OF THORNS & THE CROSS BEAM
Represents Spirituality
These instruments were used to take the life of Jesus. They represent the price He paid so that we could have access to all the benefits of a relationship with God. They also remind us that Jesus suffered so that we would not have to suffer. We can find freedom in Jesus because of His decision to give His life on our behalf.
